Squash League
In an attempt to vary partners and better our game, we would like to start a squash ladder in Caleta de Fuste. The idea is to start the league at the beginning of 2009, but new members can sign up at ant point. The rules of a squash ladder are:
On the squash ladder, the lower the number, the higher the ranking
Any player may challenge any other player up to 2 ranks above their current position.
When a player loses a challenge match, they must wait a minimum of 2 weeks before challenging the same player again.
When a higher ranked player beats a lower ranked player, the positions remain unchanged.
When a lower ranked player beats a higher ranked player, the lower ranked player takes the higher ranked player’s position and the higher ranked player drops 1 rank.
A player who has stated they are inactive cannot be challenged
If a player is inactive for 2 weeks month, they will drop 1 position.
When a player is challenged, they must answer within 2 days and play within 1 week, or forfeit the game, unless:
They have another league match arranged (in which case they must play the following week. No player can be obliged to play more than 1 challenge match per week, although they may if mutually agreed)
The player is declared as inactive.
When a new player registers, they will join at the bottom of the ladder.
When the league begins, positions will be defined by the level stated on the green form and within the levels, alphabetically by surname.
Challenge matches are the best of 5 games
After each challenge match, one of the players must notify the organizer as soon as possible.
It is recommended that the players share the cost of the court.
Hope to see you soon
